We live in a time when the truth has been ‘cast to the ground’. People no longer love the truth. They no longer believe in a universal, objective truth. Everything is now about pride and a subjective interpretation of the truth.
And, this is what the Antichrist will take advantage of, when he rises.
You MUST ‘buy the truth’, no matter what the cost. And, you must NEVER sell it away. Ever. It is more precious than diamonds or gold.
Donald Trump has essentially won the Republican Party nomination, and many rejoice over this. It’s a great victory, and I have been highly critical The Donald’s opponents in this contest.
But, will The Donald really change anything?
He might make some important changes. We’ll certainly feel better about our government, should he survive to take the White House. But, there’s a far deeper issue, and it’s even connected to last week’s review of ‘The Rapture Verdict‘ by Michael Snyder.
It’s about you and me.
Remember. You can’t fix a spiritual problem with political solutions.
However, I will assume that you have already discovered the truth, and that you will be welcomed into the arms of our loving Father, when this life is over. So, I will turn our attention to the life that lies before you.
If you love the truth, you might live long enough to serve God to the fullest, and that is what we want.
For those who do not love the truth, they are left with Cognitive Dissonance and destruction.
Yesterday, I was so caught up in the idea of rhythms and cycles that I didn’t leave myself enough time for writing. So, if you were wondering why there was no Shock Letter, that was one part of the reason. However, I also have a Bible class that I teach on Fridays, so that’s the other part.
Lord willing, I will be able to write about what I think about the rhythms and cycles that we see in history, and talk about what those rhythms and cycles tell us about the future. Hopefully, bad news will take the week off, so that we can talk about all that.
Like you, I always thought that the Antichrist would be some really awful guy with a weird mustache, a loud voice and a bad skin condition – a kind of blond-haired Adolf Hitler. But, I doubt that the AC will be anywhere near that.
Except for the blond hair. My bet is still on the Antichrist being a blond.
My other bet is on how good he is at smooth talking, shaking hands and being just a regular, down-to-earth good guy. He’ll be just really, really NICE.
Oh, and his message will be:
Why can’t we all just get along?
And, those who can’t seem to just get along will be killed.
We have allowed our lives to become cluttered with lies and fantasy. We built castles in the air and filled them with pipe dreams. Our grandparents dreamed of a glorious future, and our parents shared those glorious dreams with us. And, we bought it.
We invested ourselves in the promise of shiny new toys in a glorious future. We put the one-eyed god in our living rooms and allowed its soothing propaganda wash over us. We handed over the minds of our precious children to the government and worshiped at Hollywood’s temples.
But, you’ve begun to wake up. You’ve started to realize that something is wrong. You’ve finally realized that you paid too much for something worthless, so there’s only one thing to do:
When engaging in Truth Discovery (i.e., Intelligence Gathering and Analysis), you are ultimately forced to trust someone that you don’t know very well. And, for a cynical and suspicious guy like me, that is a very, very difficult thing to do. But, I am forced to engage in a certain amount of trust, because the alternative is to learn nothing – and THAT is not acceptable.
Pontius Pilate is famous for asking Jesus, “What is truth?”
I’m not here to talk about what the truth is (well… maybe a little bit), but in how to know when someone is telling it. And, that’s pretty tough. There are a lot of liars out there, and there are a lot of honest people that believe the lies that the lying liars have told them – and passed those lies on with the best of intentions.
So, how can you tell what is true, and what isn’t?
You see, in verses three through seven, it is clear that Paul is telling us that we can avoid disaster by staying awake, watching for what is coming and then, by implication, taking steps to avoid the disaster that will take away those who preached ‘peace and safety‘. So, why do pastors use verse nine to preach ‘peace and safety’?
