Over the past two weeks the Republicans and Democrats presented their most persuasive arguments for why Americans should choose THEM to lead the United States. I’m not a fan of either party, and the candidates that I supported most did not get nominated.
More important, Turkey made its turn away from the US and NATO, and toward the Middle East. If you are wondering how that will play out, just read Ezekiel 38 and 39. And then, read Isaiah 19, where it talks about Assyria. For Assyria to rise, Turkey must fall.
These are momentous times, and the long, hot summer that I’ve been talking about isn’t over yet.
Donald Trump has essentially won the Republican Party nomination, and many rejoice over this. It’s a great victory, and I have been highly critical The Donald’s opponents in this contest.
But, will The Donald really change anything?
He might make some important changes. We’ll certainly feel better about our government, should he survive to take the White House. But, there’s a far deeper issue, and it’s even connected to last week’s review of ‘The Rapture Verdict‘ by Michael Snyder.
It’s about you and me.
Remember. You can’t fix a spiritual problem with political solutions.
As the darkness closes in around us, it is natural for our thoughts to turn towards the prospect of a grim future. And, in the short-term, it IS grim. But, as John The Apostle contemplated these things, he embraced these events, for they pointed to the return of our God and King, Jesus Christ.
I must keep reminding myself of this, as I look upon the evil that is happening around us, and within us.
I am grateful to all who have chosen to make a stand for Christ. For the Truth. For Righteousness. For an eternity with God. It is a struggle, and it will take everything you have. But, it is worth far more than anything that we can give.
Next week will mark a turning point. Either the Republic continues as it is, with all of its faults and corruptions, or it turns deeper into Empire. Rome stood at that same turning point more than two thousand years ago, and America is remarkably similar to Rome.
In fact, that similarity was by design.
Anyway, next week will be of enormous importance. Of course there will be other weeks of such importance, but there are few times in which such importance mimics history so closely and allows us to quote Shakespeare:
The next few months will verify the direction that we see the world going in. Syria will either survive, or the Gulf Arabs and Turkey will invade and destroy Damascus. Donald Trump will either receive the nomination and win the election, or the American elites will stage a coup and install Hillary Clinton. Either gold will rise and the Stock Market collapse, or the central bankers will be successful in heading off yet another financial armageddon. Either North Korea launches an EMP attack upon America, or the Chinese successfully suppress the chubby kid in Pyongyang.
I’m afraid that I’m not hopeful about ANY of the above.
Our appointment with destiny approaches quickly. You can hear the thundering hooves of the four horsemen, if you listen carefully, but you won’t see them, until it is too late. If you haven’t begun to prepare, it might already be too late for you. I don’t know.
I’m no prophet, but I believe the Bible. And, what’s there is written in the headlines – if you are paying attention.
How much time do we have left?
I don’t know.
God is already preparing the ground for the coming of Gog and Magog. We already have what might be an EMP satellite orbiting above us. And, financial collapse is a complete and horrifying certainty.
