Remembering Our Lord in the Midst of Evil

As the darkness closes in around us, it is natural for our thoughts to turn towards the prospect of a grim future. And, in the short-term, it IS grim. But, as John The Apostle contemplated these things, he embraced these events, for they pointed to the return of our God and King, Jesus Christ.

I must keep reminding myself of this, as I look upon the evil that is happening around us, and within us.

I am grateful to all who have chosen to make a stand for Christ. For the Truth. For Righteousness. For an eternity with God. It is a struggle, and it will take everything you have. But, it is worth far more than anything that we can give.

Syria is No More

The leadership of Syria has been vile and evil. They have sought to destroy both Israel and Jordan, and Jordan survives today, only because Israel mobilized her army in 1972 – to defend Jordan from Syria. Syria was heavily involved in the destruction of Lebanon. They supported every kind of terrorist on the planet. And, let’s not forget Hama. There’s a reason why they call rules for massacres like that “Hama Rules“. But, that was Hafez al-Assad.

His son is Bashar, and seems like a decent guy. Unfortunately, because of his father – and his father’s generals that probably STILL run the place – Syria has been destroyed.

And, I just saw it in a way that could not be ignored… yesterday.

Back in Israel, and Staring into the Abyss

Well, I finally made it back to Israel, after being away for a year and a half. After a peaceful existence in Taipei, returning to the stress of Jerusalem has been difficult. Israel is a country under siege, and part of the reason for that is the disaster that we all face.

Some of what happened over the past week has been more than a little shocking. We knew that it had to come, but that knowledge did little to lessen the shock. What I’m talking about is the cutoff of gas to 60% of Europe, and the decoupling of the Swiss Franc from the Euro.

The Propaganda Machine

I’ve been a professional writer for close to twenty years, and I very quickly came to the cynical conclusion that I did not write for my readers. I wrote for the person who signed my paycheck. Even now, I am writing for the One who currently has His signature on my life – God.

If you get ANYTHING out of what I write, you only have God to thank for that.

Unfortunately, most writers have a different kind of paymaster and are beholden to a different god. And, like myself, they know the power of words, and use them to great effect. So, as you watch the propaganda machine rev up, just remember who the writers and broadcasters are really working for.
