Poor Jeremiah was a righteous man who did his very best to warn the people of God, to repent and escape the wrath that God was going to pour out upon Judah. Some listened and saved themselves, but most did not. And, Jeremiah had to watch the rebels among God’s people destroy themselves and everyone around them.
For those who are giving warning to the Body of Christ, to repent and escape the wrath of God, you are walking in the footsteps of Jeremiah. Some of our brothers and sisters will repent and escape. Most will not.
As I look back on this week, I see a theme that runs through it – our sinfulness. We have made compromises on the truth. We have compromised our morality. And, we have chosen pastors who do the same.
And, when that happens, God sends strong delusions among us:
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. – 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12
The word for ‘damned’ is the Greek word, krithosin – or, should be judged. And, THAT is what is happening right now. We are being judged by God.
I understand the difficulty people have in believing that we are so close to the end. I really do. The world that we live in seems so normal and appropriate that we can’t imagine even the possibility of a collapse.
I’ve lived most of my adult life outside of the United States, and that fact gives me some extra clarity in how exceptional American life is. But, even I struggle with the mathematical inevitability of the collapse of America.
Making sense of biblical prophecy is an incredible struggle. The Bible gives you a box of puzzle pieces with half of them left out and a fuzzy description of what the final picture should look like. The Bible then goes on to tell you that putting this puzzle together may mean the difference between life and death.
It’s not fair, right?
But, God has reasons for doing it this way, and our job is to make the best of all this and trust that He will guide us even when we make a mess of it. I’ve certainly made a hash of biblical prophecy in the past, but the Lord has always kept me on the path that I need to be.
I just finished watching A Lamp In The Dark, a three hour long documentary about the history of The Bible and the Roman Catholic Church’s attempts to suppress it. It is a very good movie, and one thing stands out to me – the Roman Catholic Church is VERY European. I believe that it is very much a part of the fourth beast, as opposed to being a rider of it.
Having said that, this is an impression and not to be considered as ‘hard evidence’. We’ll be doing ‘hard evidence’ about the Roman Catholic Church later.
I’m going to devote the entirety of ‘Part 2’ to Chapter 4. Chapter 4 really is foundational to the author’s claim that America is The Daughter of Babylon. If the author can successfully establish the identity of ‘The Daughter of Babylon’, then everything else is merely detail.
Of course, ‘merely detail’ encompasses a lot of ground. For instance, if the US really IS the ‘Daughter of Babylon’ or ‘Babylon the Great’, then you are going to have to leave the US. It’s not a suggestion – and, the author goes into detail about this command in Chapter 13.
