Any history. Any country. All of it is completely insane. Thousands upon thousands of years of complete and utter madness.
Read the Bible.
How is it possible for the Children of Israel – in the wilderness – to be so crazy as to rebel against God?
Read your newspaper.
On second thought… don’t. The WRITERS of newspaper articles are certifiably insane, already. But, current events are even MORE insane.
It’s as if we have all been overcome by a mass psychosis. And, it’s all so very stupid. Mind-boggling idiocy. The mindless, brainless, knee-jerk absurdity of it all is almost beyond my ability to understand.
Evil has escaped its prison and now lays waste to people and nations. Those given the responsibility of keeping evil in chains, recline on their couches and bask in the warmth of their televisions. They invited evil into their homes and can no longer identify what is evil, and what is not.
We forgot that glorifying God with words, deeds and our very lives was more than a Sunday service. We forgot that nothing – NOTHING – is more important than God. We forgot that eternity awaits…
As I look back on this week, I see a theme that runs through it – our sinfulness. We have made compromises on the truth. We have compromised our morality. And, we have chosen pastors who do the same.
And, when that happens, God sends strong delusions among us:
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. – 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12
The word for ‘damned’ is the Greek word, krithosin – or, should be judged. And, THAT is what is happening right now. We are being judged by God.
When I start an article, I don’t always know how it will end, and yesterday was a prime example of that. I started out by talking about how the CIA became evil, and ended up talking about why everything is a mess:
We have sinned against God. So, God has turned us over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh (1 Corinthians 5:5).
We have chosen pastors that will scratch our itching ears (2 Timothy 4:3). And, our pastors have chosen the way of cowardice, instead of truth.
Well, I received an article from Sheila Zilinsky that speaks directly to that subject, and she gave me permission to share it with you.
