A mental disease sweeps the globe, and it afflicts more than just those who believe that the Earth is flat. No, it’s far more pervasive and sinister than that.
It’s a disease that has destroyed peoples and nations throughout history. It reaches into our schools, our homes and our friendships. And, it’s a disease that will blind you to truth, if you allow it to take hold, in your life.
I call it a ‘Flat Earth Mentality’, but it might be better described as a desire to believe the fantastic, in the face of obvious and provable truth.
Very little in our world seems to make sense. It’s as if the people around us are living in an alternate reality, vastly different from the one that you and I live in. And, it is that insanity that will destroy the world.
Worse, the insanity is so great, so broad and so deep, that pointing it out to those who suffer from it, will get you nowhere. They are caught in the grip of madness, and we would do well to stay as far from its grasp as possible.
If you think that you aren’t vulnerable, think again.
If you have been a Christian for long enough, you will have noticed that God will often move you from place to place by first breaking the ties to where you are now, so that you can go to where you need to be.
It’s never an easy thing to go through, but it always results in a blessing. Often, an unintended blessing. So, as we see the skies darken around us, we should welcome those times when God breaks the bonds that keep us where we are, so that we can be where we need to be.
Three eleven. That’s what we – in East Asia – call the Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami of March 11th, 2011. The rest of you think of it as the time when the Fukushima nuclear reactors melted down and blew up.
However, it’s more than a disaster. It’s also an allegory of the future – an allegory that we need to pay attention to. Those who do not internalize this warning about the future, will be lucky to survive when that future arrives.
Why do I say this?
Most who died in the 3/11 Tsunami, did so because they ignored the warning – or didn’t hear it.
I saw evidence of three great catastrophes this week, and they should start alarm bells ringing in all of our minds:
Hezbollah and Iran Challenging Israel
Hard Hearts in Our Churches
The last one is the most important, but you’ll understand the first one better. And for the second… you won’t understand the significance, unless you’ve read Ezekiel’s Fire. And, you need to read Ezekiel’s Fire.
I’m going to give an overview of the importance of those three catastrophes. And, I hope that you’ll pay attention to them. They won’t be fixed, but they can be avoided.
Well, it’s that time of year again where the Chinese get to celebrate a new year, and I get dragged off to visit the in-laws. I hate traveling, but I like my in-laws. So, it’s always a time of mixed emotion.
It also means that I get my weekly articles out rather late.
The other thing that’s happening, is genocide in South Africa. It has been going on for a while, but the tempo is starting to increase. We should all be horrified by this and praying for our brothers and sisters who are about to suffer greatly.
Please remember that our time of suffering is coming.
I can’t believe that I had to write that as the title. But, what I heard over the past few days, leads me to make that statement.
I would love to believe that he has just gone insane, or that his hatred of the Jews and Israel has consumed his mental faculties. But, I can’t make that assumption. The evidence from his own mouth condemns him, and I do not have any other way to think about this.
No follower of Christ deliberately lies about another Christian – especially, in an attempt to deceive other Christians.
I certainly welcome your thoughts on this, once I have laid out what I have seen and heard.
