Don’t Lose Your Mind

I see a lot of the wild and ridiculous as I travel around the Internet, doing my research. Some of the speculations are interesting and thoughtful. Others… less so.

This brings to mind the need to stay grounded and not fly off into the wild blue yonder. Yes, there is a lot to be afraid of, but that’s only true if you are disobedient to God.

If you walk with God, then there is nothing to fear. You will still have concerns and even anxieties. But, they will be in context to the knowledge that God is in control.

So please, don’t lose your mind.

2017 Hits

Of all the years that I’ve been writing articles, I believe that 2017 is the most important. And, I’ve been writing since the mid ’90s. Only time will tell, whether I’m right (and write). And, 2018 might be even MORE momentous.

However, we’ll deal with 2018 later. Right now, we need to look back at this past year and examine what was important. But, I want to do that a bit differently than I normally do, at this time of year.

I want to look at the articles that YOU thought were important, and a few that I thought to be important.

Where The Antichrist Comes From, Part II

Daniel 8 is a tough chapter to work through, and I believe that it was done that way on purpose. But, since it is an important chapter in an important book, it is worth our time to try and understand it.

And, I believe that we have some ability to piece together what can and cannot be the correct interpretation of Daniel 8.

So, let’s try to figure out if the Antichrist MUST come from the region in and around the Middle East – including Greece and parts of central Asia.

How Long is the Tribulation?

Christians have been talking about the Great Tribulation from the moment that Christ proclaimed its coming. It will be the most horrifying and awful moment in time, since the beginning of Creation. It will be so bad, that you would rather die than go through it.

That is COMPLETELY understandable.

Likewise, it is completely understandable to want to know how long the Great Tribulation is. If you are going to go through it, you’d like to know how long it will last.

Horrible times are always more bearable, when you know when they will end.

Fear God

With the unusual events of this past week and an impromptu family reunion in central Taiwan, I find myself on a different topic than what I wanted to talk about.

However, it is so much more important than the destruction of our civilization that it’s like the difference between night and day. And, I find that our churches have destroyed themselves because they do not do the one thing that would keep them safe:

Fear God.

We serve God and follow God, because we love Him. But, we keep ourselves pure and holy because we fear Him.

And yes, we need both.

Get Wisdom or Die

One of my many faults is my lack of patience with fools and foolishness. There just isn’t enough time to fix a fool, and I don’t have the energy for it. The only thing that I can do is point out the fools, so that the wise don’t get tarnished by their message. And yes, fools have a message, and they want you to buy it.

The only defense against a fool is wisdom. Some think that knowledge is the key, but it’s not. Knowledge is just an input to wisdom.

And, without wisdom, you have no hope for survival as our system dies.

Before the Storm

After last week’s article, Hurricane Irma blundered through Florida and Georgia. Then, Typhoon Talim set its sights on my apartment building. However, Talim veered off to the North and didn’t do much more than rain on us, here in Taipei. But, Irma left a gigantic swath of destruction in her wake.

Half of Florida might be without power for weeks. People have been displaced. Lives and jobs disrupted and even ruined. And the loss of lives…

That was a terrible hurricane, and Florida hasn’t had one of those in a long time. But, I have an interesting observation, from all the typhoons that my wife and I have been through…

…did you notice how quiet and normal everything was, the day before?

It Takes an Epiphany

I’ve seen a few things, just recently, that impress upon me that the hour is late. The signposts for the Last Days are flying by as our civilization races down this Highway to Hell.

And yes, that’s an awful song for an awful civilization.

The problem is that far too few have woken up. And, of those who are awake, too few have put all the pieces together.

I am puzzled by this ‘putting pieces together’ business. When I look back on my own eureka moments, I realize that ‘putting all the pieces together’…

… well …

…It takes an epiphany.

Dragons, Deception and Depression

I’ve got three separate things on my mind, and it all needs to fit in one article. Hopefully, I won’t make this too long.

There are two seven-headed beasts in Revelation, and we always focus on the one that we refer to as ‘The Beast’. But, what about that dragon?

I’m getting more comments and email about deception, and it seems to center around the growth of cult activity. And, it’s as bizarre as it is horrifying.

Ray Comfort came out with a new video, ‘Exit’. A reader sent me a link, and it seems like this is a good time to talk about this.

Feeling a Bit Ezra

I just finished reading the Book of Ezra, and I completely identify with his struggles. His desire was to follow God and rebuild Jerusalem. But, the leadership of his people weren’t so interested.

He had to kick butts, pull hair and publicly shame those who would not follow God’s commandments. And, at the end of the day, he was utterly depressed by the need to struggle.

So, if you are feeling tired of the struggle, read Ezra.

I’m so amazed that we never seem to learn.
