With the horrifying events that are bearing down upon us, you desperately need to understand WHY Israel is at the center of it all. And, it is the center of it all.

Please understand that we are at the end of history. Everything that has gone before, has been leading up to this moment in time. Yes, the war was won 2000 years ago, but the fighting isn’t over. And, I was deeply impressed by a presentation given by a neighbor of mine, from Jerusalem.

This presentation illustrates THE POINT. And, you need to get that POINT, to navigate the events that we are about to experience.

When I look over the landscape of events, I see so much to talk about that it is often hard to choose what to write and say. And, this week was full of incredible events that have exploded across the headlines. And, I see signs of some of the things that I have been yelling about, coming to pass.

That would normally give me more to write about than I could pack into a single article. But, what I am about to show you is bigger than all of that, COMBINED. And yes, I really mean that.

On Monday, Karen J sent me a link. I tend to trust Karen’s research, even though I can only share a fraction of what she sends me. That link turned out to be this:

When I saw his face, I thought… Hey, I know this guy. And sure enough, he lived in my neighborhood of Gilo and went through the Second Intifada, like I did. And, his presentation is EXACTLY what I would have given, if I had been given if I had been standing where he was standing.

In fact, I think that he did it much better than I would have. So, if you need someone to talk about ‘Why Israel Matters’, don’t call me. Call Randall Smith.

He KNOWS why Israel matters, and he did an excellent job of telling us why. In fact, if I was looking for a church to attend, I would stop looking, when I hit his church. He’s that good.

And yes, I know that he’s a Dispensationalist, which means that I would bug him to death about why I think that he’s wrong in his eschatology. I’m just a joy to be around.

An OOPS! Happens

Since that was Session 1, I KNEW that there had to be a Session 2, and here it is:

As I was listening to him speak, I was nodding and saying “Amen!” to everything that he said. I was a bundle of enthusiasm for both Session 1 and Session 2, until I heard him say something that made me squawk in shock and consternation.

He said …WHAT?!

But, let me roll back a bit to the point where he starts the segment that made me howl:

A little after the 23 minute mark, he says that the center of the story is:

“Two Marriages”

That statement went right over my head. I had never heard that before, and it didn’t make a lot of sense to me. And, it could have been a discussion about how the unsaved are ‘married’ to Satan, or some such thing. So, I didn’t flinch.

He then goes on to speak about God creating the Universe and the Earth, but just uses the term God.

Then he speaks about God choosing one nation and then, speaking about God:

“I want to bequeath myself to her, as her husband.”

That statement is fine, because that is a reflection of Hosea. And, it’s a symbolism also used in the New Testament. So, there’s no reason to object until the the 27 minute mark, where he says:

“I want Israel to be my wife, says the Father in Heaven”

That statement didn’t make me squawk, but it should have. I was too caught up in the flow of his story. And, I was too used to people making these kinds of errors that are usually minor.

And, it also means that Dr. Smith is confusing God the Father with God the Son. It was God the Son that was the Creator. Not God the Father. Just read John 1, if you are confused. To make it more clear, let me say:

JESUS CHRIST IS THE CREATOR!!

And, it’s important that you get that.

Then at the 27 minute and 48 second mark, I heard something that almost made me jump out of my chair. And yes, there was yelling. Lots. Dr. Smith said:

“The bride of Christ is not the bride of the Father.”

He goes on from there to elaborate on what he said, but it was just insult added to injury. In fact, there are statements that he continued to make that caused me to wail in shock, horror and anguish. And, the pain was pretty much over by the 31:50 mark.

He said that there are TWO MARRIAGES!

I can’t tell you how upset that makes me. It is certainly NOT what the Bible says. It is NOT what the Bible teaches. But, I understand that he MUST say this.

Why?

Because you don’t get a Pretribulation Rapture, if you don’t say that. In fact, if you don’t say that, you can’t have Dispensationalism. But, there are gigantic problems with this, and I can only address a few of them.

First Problem

1st Problem – What about all those who were before Abraham?

Under his idea, they aren’t in the ‘Bride of the Father’.

Are they just ‘castaways’?

Remember that the father-in-law of Moses was the priest of Midian. And, Moses did NOT reject him. Likewise Balaam the son of Beor, was a prophet of God, but not an Israeli.

Does this tell you that there were people before Abraham that walked with God?

Of course it does. They eventually died out until only Israel had the way of salvation. But, the point is that there cannot be TWO MARRIAGES!!!!!

Second Problem

2nd Problem – Nothing is said in the Bible about two marriages.

Yes, there are places in the Bible that speak of marriage. Lots of places. But, that does not mean that there are two marriages.

Furthermore, the idea of marriage is a metaphor – just as the references to us being priests and kings in the New Testament. Yes, Paul speaks of us judging the angels (1 Corinthians 6:3), but that doesn’t change the fact that these are metaphors.

Third Problem

3rd Problem – Paul does not speak of a previous marriage.

This connects with probably the single biggest problem that I have with Dispensationalism. It raises the Mosaic covenant to be equal to the covenant made at The Cross. This is anathema to me and a truly horrifying idea.

Just read Galatians. It is chock full of references to the inadequacy of the Mosaic Covenant. And, it refers to the purpose of the ‘Old Covenant’ as one that leads us to Christ. NOT TO THE FATHER!

Paul does NOT speak of a ‘previous marriage’ or that the Old Covenant is the ‘Bride of the Father’. No, not in any way.

An Eye-Opening Experience

I did not grow up, being taught Dispensationalism. So, I did not know its tenets, and all the reasons why it is wrong. So, this has been an eye-opening experience. I had no idea that they believed in two marriages.

I am really shocked by this, since the Bible is clear that the center of everything is Jesus Christ. And, it’s clear that Jesus was and is The Creator of Heaven and Earth. I mean, there are so many things in the Bible that this fights against, I am aghast that I heard it.

I can hardly believe it.

Jesus In The Old Testament

If you take the time to examine the identity of God in the Old Testament, you find out that this ‘person’ is God the Son. Everywhere. Always. This point was brought home to me in a sermon by my pastor in Jerusalem.

Pastor Meno Kalisher did a presentation called Jesus in the Old Testament at the 2002 Winnipeg Prophecy Conference. And, you can find it here:

I listened to a recording of that presentation, and it knocked my socks off. It was utterly magnificent, and it demonstrated with absolute and fantastic clarity that every time you see God in the Old Testament, it is the pre-incarnate Jesus Christ.

Every. Single. Time.

Therefore, there can be no ‘marriage of the Father’. There can be no ‘Bride of the Father’. It also means that there can be no Dispensationalism. You cannot BE a Dispensationalist when you see that the whole Bible has been about bringing us to The Cross. And, if you are a Dispensationalist, you are forced to claim that The Cross was not necessary for Israel.

I know that Dispensationalists shy away from saying that, and I am relieved that they do. It’s blasphemy. Without The Cross, those in the Old Testament died and went to Hell. Without The Cross, following the Law of Moses was a waste of time.

The Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ is EVERYTHING!!!!

Jesus called Himself the Alpha and the Omega. The Beginning and the End. There is no other Alpha and there is no other Omega.

Please, if you are a Dispensationalist, think this through. Look at the pattern of the Bible. Look at how God was bringing His people to the Cross. To His burial. To His Resurrection.

Please. If you love God, think this through, carefully.

Yes, I know that this is hard, and John acknowledged this when He said:

Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

 – 1 John 2:23

It’s all a mystery, and I believe that this mystery is a part of what the great angel of Revelation 10 said here:

But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

 – Revelation 10:7

That’s right. The ‘Mystery of God’ will be finished. The confusion over the Trinity and why Jesus is the Creator and why the Father knew things that Jesus did not know… all of that …will be OVER when the seventh trumpet sounds – what I believe to be the ‘Last Trump’ of 1 Corinthians 15:52 (although, I can’t be firm on that).

Please, Be Careful

So please, do not insert into the Bible what it does not say. It does not say that there are two marriages and that God the Father has the first one. It does not say that there will be a pretribulation rapture.

So please, just stick with what the Bible actually SAYS. Not with what you think that it says.

Randall Smith Is Still A Great Pastor

Now, does this mean that Pastor Smith is a bad guy and a horrible Christian?

Absolutely NOT!

Please remember that I knew all the above before I sat down to write, and when I said this, above:

And you can quote me on that. Seriously. Pastors like Randall Smith are hard to find. And, every pastor makes mistakes and gets things wrong. So, I don’t hold this against him.

The TRUTH Is For Your Safety

However, he’s still wrong on this, and this is the kind of ‘wrong’ that will get you in trouble with Gog and Magog comes. In fact, error will ALWAYS leave you vulnerable. I can attest to this personally. So, in the words of Paul Benson who shares my view on this:

Now, Watch Those Videos

By now, some of you will feel a bit ‘put off’ by this discussion of Dispensationalism, and this will make you reluctant to watch those two videos. I feel sorry about that.

Please, do not miss this opportunity to learn about the importance of Israel to God, in the Bible. This is serious stuff, and missing it will be a BIG problem for you.

Getting upset over seven minutes, and throwing out the rest of the videos would be more than a shame, it would be a crime – to your spiritual life.
