The Burdensome Stone

I ended yesterday’s article with part of a verse. The whole thing goes like this:

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.Psalm 122:6

And, I find it interesting that fewer and fewer Christians are interested in praying for the peace of Jerusalem.

Is it any wonder that we no longer prosper?

As we draw closer and closer to the end of this age, fewer and fewer American Christians are interested in the peace of Jerusalem. And, as Christians turn their back on Jerusalem, God has turned His back on us. And, God has decreed that Jerusalem will be a weight that will destroy everyone that tries to carry it away.

The Burdensome Stone

Just as I have seen American Christianity drift further and further away from the truth, I have also seen American Christians drift further and further from Israel.

It is hard to believe that American Christians have fallen so far. We have sold our souls and are reaping the result, with a divorce and abortion rate almost as great as non-Christians. Our pastors preach pablum and watch pornography. Our congregations are more interested in activities for their kids, than hearing the truth.

It’s no wonder that Satan and his lies find such a comfortable home in mega-church building projects – and in the hearts of cold Christians.

I am ashamed of those of you who call Christ your own, yet vilify the desperate State of Israel. I really don’t know which is worse, the pre-tribulation rapture lie that has put Christians to sleep or those who have turned their backs on Israel – even though they know that there is no escaping the tribulation.

Don’t you know that Jesus set Jerusalem as the marker for the Last Days?

I spoke of this in my series about the prophecy clock, and I am mystified that so few know what time it is.

Jesus said this in Luke:

And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.Luke 21:24

Those words of Jesus were fulfilled on June 7th, 1967. The time of the Gentiles is over. Fulfilled.

What an amazing thing – that we would dare to resist God’s work at the end of history. It’s as if the Book of Ezekiel and Zechariah ceased to exist. We’ve chosen the side of Allah and those who love death, over the work that God is doing in the hearts of Israelis.

What a shameful thing.

And, we have gone on to burden ourselves with Jerusalem, trying to take it away from her rightful owner, and give it to those who wash their hands in the blood of Christians.

Zechariah talked about that burden here:

And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.Zechariah 12:3

With all the UN resolutions surrounding Jerusalem and Israel, you would think that the Jewish state would be the largest in the world, with Jerusalem the top city in the world.

Doesn’t that tell you something?

Just thirty percent of evangelical Christians are willing to say even a word of support for Israel. Just 30%.

How dare we turn our backs on the work of God. How DARE we!

Twenty eight percent of the Bible speaks about the Last Days, and most of it deals with Israel, in one form or another. For a closer look at Israel in Last Days prophecy, go here:

Those of you with a ‘yes but’ – blaming the suffering of the Palestinians on Israel – your ignorance of history is pathetic. Those of you who claim Israel’s heritage and End Times promises for yourselves, you are worse than pathetic. You have turned towards outright defiance of God’s work.

Yes, they are unsaved, and therefore pagan – by definition. But, God’s promise to save them still stands, and there are those of us who would dare to resist God, as He fulfills that commitment.

Were we not sinful and evil before we were saved?

Yet we demand of them, more than we expect of ourselves.

For a reason that I do not understand, God placed His name and His focus on a tiny patch of ground upon a low hill, and called it Jerusalem. He measured the time of salvation for the Gentiles in terms of it, and He gave it to His friend Abraham and his descendants. He then sent His only Son to die for us there – and only there.

The Last Days began on that rocky hilltop, and they will end there. The question is about yourself.

Are you going to be ready, when the end comes?

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:

…they shall prosper that love thee.

I truly hope that you’ll be ready for this
