The Russo-Shiite Axis

The growing relationship between Russia and Iran is a key element of what I’ve been talking about over the past two days. This will act as the core of the coming of Gog and Magog, the great army that descends on Israel in Ezekiel 38 and Ezekiel 39. And, it is a development that should spur us on as we prepare for a likely collapse scenario in the US and even Europe.

This growing Russian and Iranian relationship is nothing less than a Russo-Shiite axis, and this new alliance threatens to engulf the Middle East in apocalyptic war. Russia will use this relationship to expand its foothold in the Middle East and shape the Eurasian natural gas network that it has built over the last two decades. Iran has taken over Iraq, and will use Russia as a shield as she sets her sights on Saudi Arabia and that tiny bit of real estate called Israel.

Enter Turkey. The Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has long been interested in rebuilding the Ottoman empire, and it appears that he is hitching a ride on the Russo-Shiite train – now that the US is exiting the region. How far this will develop is a little difficult to tell, but it is a development that must worry the Saudis.

And, THIS map REALLY worries the Saudis:

The Shiite Crescent
The Shiite Crescent

Click here for a larger version of the above map

THAT map has the Saudis frightened. With the fall of Saddam Hussein, Iraq has become Shiite-controlled and a client-state of Iran. Syria is ruled by a Shiite sect. And Bahrain, with its 65% Shiite population, is a dagger pointed at the heart of the Saudi Kingdom. All of this is making the Saudis feel like cornered rats.

Why are the Shiites a threat?

Well, you’d have to delve into the history of the Shia-Sunni rift for a closer look at the blood feud between these two main branches of Islam. But, a modern expression of that divide is Iran’s decades-long threat to overthrow the Saudi regime. And lately, there’s been this Shiite prophecy that the Mahdi would come when King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia dies. You can understand why Iran would like to hasten this process along.

Add a restless Shiite minority in Saudi Arabia, economic troubles and problems among the Saudi princes, and… well… you have problems.

That’s why Saudi Arabia is making Israel’s strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities feasible. We’ve always wondered how that would work, and now we don’t have to wonder anymore. What was possible has now become a certainty.

Those of us who have been predicting a financial collapse in the United States will need to include Iran’s response to an Israeli attack in our calculations. As someone who knows Israel well, this attack is a complete certainty.

Do not wait to get ready for a collapse of the financial system in the US. Start preparing now.

Tomorrow, I want to talk about this map that I discovered today:

Global Map of Islam
Global Map of Islam

Here’s a hint: This map brings the coming of Gog and Magog into focus.

Can you see why?

I’ll see you tomorrow.

Are you ready for all this?

  1. Excellent thought provoking article. But it’s written in faded blue over white in micro print. I know that’s the “in thing” and I can’t read the others either without straining. Hope you appreciate this well meaning comment.

I agree with you. Saudi Arabia is the key to the petro-dollar and therefore it is the key to our economic well being. Also, the huge oil fields in Saudi Arabia are located in the eastern part of the country which is predominantly Shiite. If anything causes the House of Saud to lose control over the oil producing region of the country, whether a coup, or a revolution, or even an attack from outside the country, the price of oil will shoot to the moon. I think if Iran is attacked by Israel, they may counter attack Saudi Arabia because it is the Achilles heal of the global economy.

    • Hey Michael Haller,

Yup! You got it. Don’t forget that it is VERY easy to close the Straits of Hormuz. VERY easy. Give me a few Katyusha rockets on a rusty pickup truck and a several hundred million dollar tanker filled with a billion dollars of oil is NOT going take the risk of going through that narrow channel.

Tankers are expensive. Katyushas are cheap. It won’t take a rocket scientist to decide who will win this one. And no, I don’t care how many aircraft carriers you have. You can’t shoot what you can’t see.

      Yours in Christ,
